Create, Drink & Be Merry at Upstairs Circus’ signature Project Social experience.

Classic Project Socials are our core DIY workshop-meets-bar events where creativity, cocktails, music, and social energy all come together inside a design-forward bar atmosphere built for making things and making memories.

Think great playlists, craft cocktails, groups celebrating birthdays, couples on dates, coworkers unwinding after work, and friends laughing over leatherworking, jewelry making, woodworking, art, and maybe one more round from the bar.

This is not a step-by-step class and it’s definitely not your average craft night.

Upstairs Circus is designed to give you the freedom to create at your own pace while actually having a good time doing it. You choose your own project, grab a drink, settle in at your table, and let the creativity and cocktails do their thing.

Whether you’re planning a date night, girls’ night, birthday celebration, team outing, or just looking for something way more interesting than another dinner reservation, you’re in the right place.

– WHAT TO EXPECT –

🎨 MAKE:

Choose any project from our curated menu of 30+ designer DIY projects including leatherworking, jewelry making, woodworking, art, home décor, and more.

Every person in your group can choose a completely different project and still sit together while creating. So yes, your friend can make jewelry while you make a leather project and someone else in your group channels their inner Bob Ross; we fully support creative chaos!

And. No experience needed. Seriously.

Once you pick your project, we provide:

All tools and supplies
Workspace for you to create
A photo tutorial with step-by-step visuals
Access to our Creative Assistants if you need help, advice, encouragement or a back-up creator

We are not a traditional instructor-led workshop. We believe creativity should feel social, flexible, and fun. Work at your own pace, take breaks for drinks, wander the bar, hype up your friends, and enjoy the experience.

Drinks are available à la carte and are not included in the price of the experience. Cocktails, wine, beer, mocktails, and other beverages typically range from $7–14.

🕒 WHEN:

Classic Project Socials take place:

Tuesday & Thursday Evenings: 6–9pm-ish
Friday & Saturday Evenings: 6:30–10pm-ish
Saturday Afternoons: 3–6pm

Reservations are made using flexible arrival times, so you don’t have to arrive at one exact moment. Evening guests may typically arrive between 6–7:30pm, while Saturday Afternoon guests usually arrive between 3–3:30pm. Choose while making a reservation!

Most guests spend about 2–3 hours creating, socializing, sipping cocktails, and having an unexpectedly good time. Most DIY projects take between 1–3 hours depending on your pace and how much socializing is happening at your table.

Classic Project Social pricing is $43 per person and includes:

Your choice of DIY project from our 30+ project menu
All tools, materials, space and assistance
Custom designs, stencils, and personalization options

Reservations are free to make; payment happens at the event.

Drinks are available à la carte and are not included in the price of the experience. Cocktails, wine, beer, mocktails, and other beverages typically range from $7–14.

A tab will be started at check-in for your DIY experience and any additional drinks or purchases.

Taxes and gratuity are not included (20% gratuity is recommended for our Creative Assistants).

🪩 FLOW:

Here’s how your Classic Project Social actually goes down:

You’ll arrive and check in at the front desk, where we’ll check your ID and start a tab with a credit card. Bring both!

Once you’re checked in, we’ll give you a toy animal to trade for your project supplies at Project Pickup. It’s weird. It’s fun. It’s how we know you’re officially in the Circus.

Next, you’ll be shown your seat. From there, you can browse the Project Menu and Idea Book, check out our wall of project examples, ask questions, and figure out what you want to make. At any point, feel free to head to the bar for your first cocktail, mocktail, beer, wine, or other “creative juice.”

Once you’ve chosen your project, head to Project Pickup, trade in your animal, and grab your supplies, tools, and photo tutorial. Need extra flair? Visit our paint, string, and accoutrements wall to personalize your DIY.

Then settle in, sip, create, laugh, try something new, and make your masterpiece. Or at least make a memory. Our Creative Assistants will be around throughout the event to help, cheer you on, answer questions, and keep the good vibes flowing.

This is a fluid Project Social, so feel free to get up, visit the bar, grab additional supplies, take photos, or order another round whenever the mood strikes.

Finished early? Second projects are half off.
Not finished in time? No worries. We can send supplies home with you so you can complete your project later.

We’ll give time warnings as the Project Social winds down so you know how much time remains. When you’re done, head back to check-out to close your tab for your project, drinks, and any additional purchases.

Before you leave, hit the photo wall and show off what you made. You did the thing. Take a pic. Be proud. Share it with the world.

Reserve your seats directly through the event list below or one of our event calendars. Reservations are free, easy to make and can be managed online once made!

Payment happens at the event and guests may pay separately.

Celebrating something big? We love groups!

Large groups can book through the same reservation system as small groups using the event list below, but are also required to complete a Large Party Agreement and hold their reservation with a credit card in order to finalize their booking.
